Editorial Director and Co-founder Census Commodity Data
Tim has spent over a decade working in the price reporting sphere, a niche but essential element of the modern commodity space providing benchmark pricing and market insights. The bulk of his career was spent with S&P Global Platts–the largest PRA in the world, providing benchmark pricing services to the oil and energy space. For the last four years of his career at Platts, Tim lead the Agriculture editorial team, building the services that laid the foundation for corn and wheat pricing services that ultimately saw the CME list three futures contracts that financially settle against the Plattsassessed Black Sea corn and wheat price, and the APW price. From October 2017, Tim left Plattsto co-found the agriculture-focused Agricensus–a PRA dedicated to building pricing services for the agriculture space.
Tim has a degree in Modern History and lives in Cambridgeshire surrounded by fields of wheat, barley and sugar beet.
Census CommodityData has been founded to provide the global agriindustry with market intelligence and pricing data to power the next generation of commercial contracts and derivative instruments.
We provide physical price indices for key locations, that can be used as a reference for physical spot or term contracts, and to settle associated derivative contracts to better manage risk.
